Cynthia Sass traveled to Boston this summer to moderate the volatile topic of Social Media, Employer Surveillance and Employee Privacy, at the National Employment Lawyers Association 2014 Annual Convention titled Blazing the Trail: Courage | Challenge | Change. She conducted the discussion on how far should an employer’s ability to control employees extend — acquiring social media passwords, installing GPS tracking devices in company vehicles, etc. Ms. Sass’s panel reviewed the current state of the law protecting employee privacy and how the internet has changed the landscape.
